My First 5K

For Trav's graduation gift, Trav begged me to do a half marathon with him. For some crazy reason, I agreed. Then his momma got on the phone and basically told him, that if he wanted me to run again, he better make me do a small run first. For some crazy reason, he agreed. Thank the Lord.

I have this love-hate relationship with it. Mostly hate. It's boring to me and my body aches during it. And I sweat... a lot. It's gross. It probably happens to everyone, but, it just creeps me out having sweat run down into my eyes and anywhere else on my body. And while trying to build my mile up one day, a person literally stopped me to ask if I was okay. Not only did I feel awful, it must have really showed... but sometimes I do feel better afterwards.

This particular morning, Trav and I woke up super early, he asked if we could go running. We did. For some reason, I didn't feel like it was my normal run (probably because it was still dark, since the sun wasn't up, it wasn't quite humid and hot enough yet), so I looked at Travis and told him, "If you want me to run 3 miles with you, today is the day. This will be your early graduation gift, DON'T make me do it again before you graduate." He nodded his head (although I didn't really believe him), and off we ran.

ANDDDDDDD..... I made it! I guess this is my achievement because I couldn't even run without stopping, and I did a whopping 3 miles without having to stop one.single.time (and Trav runs 3 miles like nobody's business). I know you crazy runners out there are like, "that's all she did?" Well all of you can kiss my butt. Running is not everyone's thing, it may be good exercise, but it's not everyone's thing.

Although, I will say, I felt so much better afterwards. But, not good enough to make myself run again.

Travis is now talking about running a half marathon for next year, which is awesome, but in that case, if I need to practice with him, I am getting myself a bike. And that's how I roll.

Scrolling though my Facebook feed, this particular picture caught my eye:

Travis was at work, so I texted him, letting him know that, "I think Dan is ENGAGED!"
"How do you know?"
"The ring on Emily's finger!"

Hahaha. And that is how we found out Trav's best friend is getting married!

*Update: Trav is the best man! :)

P.S. Sorry it's upside down. I'm not a computer whiz, so it will remain this way. Haha.

Skype Date with the Fur Babies

We miss our fur babies so much. We have been so thankful to Grandma who has been watching them since March. In March, we put the house on the market, and our realtor told us that all the animals would be overwhelming for people looking at the house. Could you imagine walking through a house with dogs kenneled up, or cats roaming around? Even with my love for animals, if I was looking at a house, I would focus more on the animals rather than the house. And there is a lot of people who are terrified of big dogs. LOL.

I'm so glad Grandma has been able to step in and take care of them, rather then them having to go to a place where they would have to stay in kennels and hardly get out. Could you imagine how much that would cost for two dogs and two cats for months? Holy moly!

Grandma is used to having them come and go, but when your not used to having 4 animals in your house for months, it is a lot to take on. These sweet babies can be A LOT of work. She loves having the animals around so I don't think she minds. I think she will even miss them when they are gone.

Plus, they have been SUPER spoiled while they have been staying there. They go on long runs together, there is usually someone at the house at all times, they have a big size back yard, etc.

Honestly, I don't know if they will want to come back with us... Hahaha.

Tatum can hear us, but is choosing to ignore us since
we're not physically there. Trig was a good boy and listened.
Although, he was a little confused.

"Mom & Dad, what are you doing in there?!"

Little Payson and Jax wanted nothing to do with us.

Thanks momma L for taking care of them :) We truly appreciate you watching our babies - there is no one that we would trust more.

Apartment Living

Being woken up at 2 in the morning by someone stomping around almost every morning
 {who just happens to be a grown adult}
The smell of curry.
Having a six year old run around their entire apartment.
{She usually gets a wind of energy around 9 pm.}

That is a glimpse of what it is like living in our apartment.
After being spoiled by living in houses since 2009, I don't know how much I can take.
But I kept reminding myself that it was only 2 more months left.
Now it's less than 30 days.
And we can't wait!
I can't wait until we can move into our new house, and have our fur babies back*.

Until then, here is our current living conditions:

The living room/dining area. Our tv is actually on the table, lol.
Some furniture didn't fit, so thankfully God brought a lady to
the donation center where we tried donating some of our stuff
{the donation center wouldn't take our furniture because
they said it was in too bad of shape}. She was so
thankful and told us everything she ever had was
something that someone gave her. And there she was
at the donation center, giving back. Incredible.
Totally a God thing.

Our kitchen

Our bedroom - It's actually pretty decent size.

Thankfully this apartment has two bedrooms.
This is what our second bedroom looks like.
It is completely full of our stuff. Haha.
Sad thing is, we got rid of quite a bit,
but somehow we still have a lot.
We keep this door closed at all times,
but if you were to open it, you get even
 a stronger smell of curry.

At first, I kept thinking how small our apartment was and was a little annoyed. I just remind myself how truly blessed I am. There are people in other countries living in shacks and are thankful for all that they have. That puts a different perspective on things.

*The fur babies have been at mil's house. She has been taking care of all of them (don't worry, she loves it) and we love that they are so happy. I don't know if they will want to come back home now since they are so spoiled! LOL.

Libby's Wedding

Libby, Trav's cousin, is gosh darn beautiful. Inside and out... making her wedding was nothing short of being extremely beautiful. You could honestly FEEL the love between Libby and Jordan. Jordan cried as he was saying his vows to Libby, and I was a sap and cried right along with them.

*Photos taken from friends*

Libby always dreamed of having her cousins as her bridesmaids. They all looked stunning gorgeous... and they all have striking beautiful blue eyes. You can tell they are all related. When the wives of the guy cousins take a picture, we stick out like sore thumbs. Hahaha.

Their wedding day was perfect.

Trav's Early Graduation Gift

While we were home last, Trav's mom wanted to give him an early graduation gift.

These were actually flags from the 2014 National Championship. They were hanging downtown. And now they will be hanging in our house! How awesome is that?

Let's just say that Travis loved it! :) Now on to getting these banners framed!
