Closed Doors

Today I am reminded of Philippians 4:6-7
Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all that he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

The Prayer:
Lord,
If it's not your will, let it slip through my grasp and give me peace not to worry about it.

Travis and I have been talking more and more about going home. We even started looking at houses online, talked about what schools we wanted our kids to attend, how far things would be, etc. We so wanted it. Not even a blizzard could scare us away. Ha.

Travis contacted a likely job option for him only to be told that they are not hiring.

Talk about being disappointed. After reading the text from Trav, my eyes filled with tears. Then I remembered that I prayed to God the night before that if God didn't want Trav to have that job, to simply have the door shut. And it was.

On top of that, Travis checked into some other jobs in the area, and they are not hiring at the moment, or they want someone with at least two-year-paid experience. To be honest, the job that he just contacted about that said they weren't hiring had an awesome location next to home, but it wasn't exactly the perfect job. It had no benefits and salary, which means he would be on call a lot and not able to get paid for the extra hours that he would work. So all in all, it wasn't the perfect fit.

As Trav called me on his way home, he brought up a good point: God has not failed us with where he wanted us to go. We ended up in AZ and really loved the weather and so many things to do. He lead us to TN for Trav's school and we were blessed for Trav's great education. Now it will be a new adventure. Or maybe he just wants us to be patient, and He will open a door when He is ready.

Whatever God's reason for closing so many doors, we know he will lead us to the right place. We will find that place and we will still have plenty of time to do it. Travis doesn't graduate until this summer.

God, lead us, and we will follow.
