Myrtle Beach Vacation

When Caroline and Tyler first asked us to come with them to Myrtle Beach, we could hardly wait, but felt like it it was FOREVER away. We knew once we got back, Travis and Tyler would have just about a year to go in their program. We couldn't wait to put our toes in the sand, not worry about anything {Travis & Tyler especially} and just RELAX.

It was about a 12 hour drive. We stopped half way in Tennessee where  Tyler and Caroline are from. We stayed with Caroline's parents and it was incredibly fun because we got to visit all their animals {horses, cows, and cows}. Their parents lived the kind of life we only dream of!

The next day drive started off nice.

But as soon as we got to Myrtle Beach, it started raining.

It didn't take too long to clear up though and as soon as it did, we hit the beach and put our toes in the water.

We walked the beach. Tyler and Caroline showed Travis some little creatures that lived in the sand.

We spent most of our time on the beach, sun bathing, put our chairs in the water, and of course, explored some of our time in the town, but most of all just RELAXING. And not having a care in the world. Which was much needed.

And of course, we ate. We hit up places like Dirty Don's, the River City Cafe and Drunken Jacks. At Drunken Jacks, we had an awful long wait, BUT it was SO worth it. Their hush puppies are the BEST and their food is just unbelievable. I def. would do it again in a heart beat.

We celebrated the fourth of July a little early watching fireworks at the pier. And played putt putt one night.

And of course, we got lots of ice cream because everyone LOVES ice cream!
I am still craving this, thanks Yum Yum shop!

We also hit up Charleston {that will be in the next post} which was more beautiful than ever.

Tyler's family also came to Myrtle Beach. His sister-in-laws mother has a place up there, and they hosted a Shrimp Bowl, which included shrimp, lobster, potatoes, corn and sausage. It was our first ever.

It was an experience like no other. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!! And I so hope that we get to do it again. :)

  1. I am glad you had fun there! Myrtle Beach has an unfair reputation for being trashy and "ghetto". I think it is a fun place. I haven't been in years. I am hoping that my husband and I can go sometime.

    1. You're right, Myrtle Beach has a bad rep. But for having such a bad rep, there sure was a lot of people there! :) The beach was always crowded! I hope that you and your husband are able to go sometime soon and that when you go it's beautiful! :)
