Running on Empty

Today at church I felt the need to take notes (which this is a first for me), but I felt like our pastors preaching was meant to be shared.

God nowhere in the Bible says, "You must to go to church". Instead he states, "You are the church. (1 Corinthians 3:1- Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple.)

Here are some important key points of what we should be doing as Christians.

1.) Surrender your house to Jesus. God sees what you're doing at your home how you act. Try to lead by example by having a home filled with love and God's love.

2.) Get honest about your life. A couple weeks ago, the pastor talked about the light of God, and how people shield the light with baskets so you can't see the way. Instead, they are so concerned with (name your basket; i.e.; fear) that they can't see beyond it.

3.) Get connected to others. If you expect to do it by yourself, you can't. Hold your self accountable. Join a study group, etc.

4.) Pray often. Listen and talk the word of God. Be still and wait. What is God trying to say to you?

5.) Love others (just because). Not only because it makes you look good. People don't need judgement, they need love. You shouldn't live like, "If we don't like your sins, than you cannot come in." That is not how it works. Share the love of Jesus.

It is not enough just to sweet the bad stuff out, but fill your home with goodness.
