Little Geek

Trav has been trying to study for an upcoming test. Little Arch wanted to help:

But poor baby was too bored of the thought of studying and passed out.

Trav's Worst Bday Ever

Trav turned the big 25 today. Let's celebrate!

He is now closer to 30 now then he is to 20. And 25 is half of 50. Wow. Where has time gone? He used to be this little:

Okay, so that photo really had nothing to do with it - I just thought it was really cute :) (P.S. Once we have real live babies - they are going to be little studs).

Anyways, poor guy got nada for his birthday - no birthday presents, no kisses.. and well you get the point. On top of that, Travey spent his birthday all alone where he went to Native New Yorker, got wings, and had beer all by himself.  :( Bummer.

I feel like such a bad going-to-be wife, but don't worry, I'll make it up to him when I get home. :)

Travey,

Happy Birthday!! Sorry I couldn't be there to celebrate you turning half of 50, but I can promise you that the next birthday and from then on you will never have to spend alone. I love you baby more than anything and that you have a good day.

Love,
Your future wife

Good Read: The Help

I have been reading this book since June (literally - I started it right before we got engaged) and I haven't been able to finish it due to all the exciting happenings and other events that have taken place in between, but the other day while on my way I was able to finish it! Awesomeness! :)

It was a fantastic book that truly makes you open your eyes (about putting yourself in someone elses shoes, how you treat people, and etc). This book has many different characters (Minny's my favorite) that have all fun different personalities that you will fall in love with! :)

I love how it actual history in it (such as the President being shot), and whatnot - so not only it is an awesome book, but also gives you an idea of what was going on with the time period during that time and it makes you understand the book a lot more.

Overall, I gave the book a 4/5 stars only because it was a book where I could put down. I want the book where I am unable to put it down. However, I liked the book so much that I was able to give it to Brit as a Christmas present for a must-read! I would also to see the movie. Have you seen it yet?

Let me know what your thoughts are on The Help and if you have any suggestions on what to read next.

So Much to Do... so Little Time

The good thing about working at a school district is that you have time off, so this winter break we get two weeks. So I booked my flight down to Indiana, and here I am. I am so incredibly busy on trying to get wedding things done and see everyone in between, that I feel like I'm going crazy.

Things to get done:

-Check out a hotel we booked for our guests *it was a last minute decision that we had to pre-pay for.* Rooms were cheap, but I'm hoping that we made the right decision.
-Check out the barn/gazebo/cabin that we are renting. I think once this is done, it will make me feel so much better. This way I can play how everything is going to be laid out.
-Find a caterer where the food tatstes amazing.
-DJ? I'm still not sure if we're going to do this. We have seen lately where people make their own play lists on an i-pod. I'm actually pretty fond of this idea of just having to rent speakers instead of paying tons of money for someone to push a play button.
-Florist - I'm not too concerned, but I would like to have some pretty lily flowers everywhere :)
-Cake - and of course since I have done everything last minute, well it's kind of hard to squeeze everything in.
-Photographer - I have been looking what seems forever that doesn't seem way over priced. Photos are the only thing that you have left in a wedding that you have to show, so having an excellent photographer is a must!
-Pastor
-Rental places - for linens and whatnot
-Bridesmaid dresses and they sure don't have many places here in Indiana to check out. I want something afforable for the girls and whatnot, plus I really would like them to wear boots with their dresses. Even though they will look fantastic no matter what they wear, I'm sure that adding boots will be even better! (If only I can find some cheap ones!)

Fun stuff... I'll be just glad when it's over!

Have Yourself a Wonderful Little Christmas

Christmas Eve at the future mom-in-laws place:

Found this pic of the boys when they were little, weren't they precious?
Christmas Day with my side of the family:

Every Christmas morning, Brit gets up and divides the presents while my mom sleeps in. Everyone sits in the living room and waits for mom to get up. This usually entails no pictures of mom since she is not "camera ready".

Christmas Evening at my aunt's and uncle's:

This year, Christmas was a little different since none of the other cousins were there and it was just Brit and I. However, it was still a nice Christmas for all of us even though it was quiet. My mom always brings her home-made Cherry Fluff to every Christmas dinner that we celebrate. We then gather around, eat, chit-chat and watch Christmas Vacation. I used to hate that movie, but now I have become very fond of it, making it a must-see movie.

I got this message five times in a row, maybe it's trying to tell me something?

And how my uncle ended the night, LOL.

Priceless. Oh how I wish everyone lived closer.

Glendale Glitters

Since Phoenix does not encounter any snow, the best next thing that makes Phoenix feel magical around Christmas time is Christmas lights of course! Glendale Glitters annually hosts a downtown festive activies that has plenty of these sparkly lights that makes you ohhh and ahhh!

While we were there, we were able to meet up Rose for the very first time! She is just as beautiful in person as she is on her blog. Rose and Brandon are so much fun! :) I have never met a fellow blogger, but I am glad I had the chance because I feel like Rose and I will be friends for a long time. :)

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!! I can't wait to read everyone's blog posts to see what ya'll did!
